Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist to provide hands-on respiratory care across critical and general settings. You’ll manage ventilators, support codes, perform airway procedures, and deliver a range of therapies with a patient-centered approach.

Requirements include Louisiana licensure, NBRC RRT, BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS. Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for serving diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist credential with state licensure.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist certification from NBRC.
• Current BLS/CPR through AHA.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Managing ventilators and adjusting settings based on patient needs.
• Performing arterial punctures and assisting with airway management.
• Supporting high-acuity situations like Code III responses.
• Assisting with bronchoscopies and intubations.
• Delivering therapies (oxygen, aerosol, CPT, IPPB, incentive spirometry, and more).
• Monitoring equipment and ensuring safe operation.
• Educating patients and families to feel informed and empowered.
• Maintaining infection control and safety standards.
• Collaborating with a team that values patient insight and expertise.
