• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates existing data in patient records and respiratory care orders.
• Evaluates data such as blood gases, hemodynamics, ECG, and radiology reports.
• Advises on respiratory care procedures and techniques for patient care.
• Assembles and checks respiratory care equipment for proper function and cleanliness.
• Documents prescribed therapeutic procedures and monitors clinical parameters.
• Modifies treatment techniques based on patient response.
• Provides and documents patient education for procedures.
• Initiates and updates respiratory care plans per policy.
• Collaborates with the health care team to implement the plan of care.
• Maintains ACLS certification and responds to emergencies.
• Trains and orients respiratory care team members and students.
