Qualifications

• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist or Technician by the State of New York.
• Credentialed as a Certified Respiratory Therapist by NBRC.
• BLS within 90 days; ACLS within one year of hire.
• Strong communication and professionalism with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload during emergencies.
• Commitment to quality care and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and administer therapies tailored to patient needs.
• Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
• Perform arterial and capillary blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and related procedures.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing per ATS guidelines and provide analysis.
• Educate patients and families; document care and procedures accurately.
• Ensure infection control, PPE usage, and patient confidentiality.
• Participate in quality improvement and team collaboration.
• Attend ongoing education and mandatory in-service programs.
