Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a temporary assignment covering critical care and related units. Shift hours are 7pm–7am, with a minimum 48 hours per week for 13 weeks, renewable for up to 26 weeks, and eligible for shift differential.

Requirements include HS/GED, Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy licensure with NBRC registration, and a minimum of 1 year of experience. BLS is required; ACLS if applicable to unit.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Licensed by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy and NBRC registration.
• Minimum 1 year experience in respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in critical care, step-down, general care and during transports.
• Follow shift patterns and maintain patient safety and documentation.
• Participate in orientation and keep up to date with policies.

This is a temporary experienced RT assignment

This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (renewable once for a total of 26 weeks)

Assignment Type: Temp with Full Time hours

Assignment Shifts: 7p-7a, minimum of 48 hours per week for 13 weeks / rotating weekends; Eligible for shift differential

Assignment Benefits: Limited benefit plan (High Deductible Health Plan ONLY)

Qualifications

Education: HS/GED Required. Applicants must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy and must be registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience

Additional Skill/Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. ACLS required if applicable to specific unit.
