Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to lead the Respiratory department, oversee shift operations, and ensure safe, high‑quality patient care. You will supervise staff, enforce standards, and coordinate evaluations and therapies with physicians to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Florida licensure (RRT/CRT), BLS at hire, and 5+ years of clinical respiratory experience with supervisory exposure in an acute hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year accredited respiratory care program.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy department.
• Ensure standards of practice, policies and procedures meet regulatory requirements.
• Conduct respiratory assessments and administer prescribed therapies and medications.
• Oversee staff, shift operations, and ensure patient safety and quality care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Respiratory Therapy Supervisor

OurRespiratory department is a committed, caring group of colleagues. We are currently seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy and will provide you the tools and resources you need to succeed in our organization. As a Supervisor on our Respiratory team, you will provide supervision for all aspects of Respiratory Care Services and will be responsible for shift operations of the department.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Provide leadership and are responsible for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments and staff on a daily basis
• Ensure departments standards of practice, policies and procedures meet legal and all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements
• Conduct respiratory assessments of patients as indicated within scope of practice
• Administer medications and perform various clinical modalities as prescribed by physicians

Requirements:

• Completion of a two-year accredited respiratory care program
• Associate Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Clear/active Florida licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire
• Required within 6 months of hire:
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum of five years of experience in clinical respiratory therapy in an acute hospital environment
• One year of supervisory experience
• Critical thinking, service excellence and top-notch interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions
• PC skills
