Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) Specialist to provide family-centered, evidence-based respiratory care and education. You will work within pediatric-focused teams on the Night shift, promoting high-quality, coordinated care and professional collaboration.

You will model best practices, participate in policy development, and support education for staff and students, while maintaining licensure and professional memberships.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy/Care.
• Three (3) years of experience delivering respiratory therapy/care, including at least one (1) year of pediatric experience.
• RRT by NBRC is required.
• CPFT or RPFT credential required within one (1) year if in outpatient pulmonary function lab setting.
• BLS certification with at least 6 months remaining before expiration.
• ACLS required.
• PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• NRP required within 90 days of hire.
• State of Colorado DORA Respiratory Therapist license.
• Active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

• Participates in quality improvement and safety initiatives with the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyzes information to improve patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Precepts and educates orientees, students and peers.
• Demonstrates ability to be in Charge roles.
• Assesses unit delivery of family-centered care and culturally sensitive, evidence-based care.
• Coaches patient and family care needs and removes barriers to communication.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate individualized care across the continuum.
• Contributes to designing departmental systems to support teamwork.
• Participates in safety and quality care projects and disseminates findings.
• Provides direction and support to the team.
