Job summary

Shelby Oaks Post Acute in Memphis, TN is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. You will work under the Respiratory Department Head, supervising Technicians and ensuring accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include administering IPPB, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and tests. You must maintain equipment, respond to emergencies, and uphold dress code standards in a caring, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Current Tennessee RT license or eligibility required.
• CPR/BLS certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and recommend appropriate respiratory therapy treatments
• Administer doctor-recommended respiratory therapy treatments
• Plan, prepare, and administer treatments such as IPPB, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions
• Perform diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests
• Inspect, test, maintain, and operate respiratory therapy equipment
• Respond to code blue emergencies, maintain airways, and perform CPR
• Instruct and supervise respiratory technicians
• Ensure patient care documentation is timely, legible, concise, and meets departmental standards
• Use resources and materials efficiently and safely
• Perform all duties promptly with competence and care
• Maintain a neat appearance and adhere to facility dress code policies
