Job summary

CHI Health Lakeside is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our established RT team dedicated to cardiopulmonary patient care. You will deliver breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy, while applying assessment skills to create effective care plans.

We expect urgency, calm under pressure, and strong problem-solving to support patients in routine and emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Certified CRT by NBRC; RRT to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Active license as Nebraska Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS/PALS/NRP within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic respiratory care and develops therapy plans as directed by physicians.
• Manages mechanical ventilation, monitoring, and diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Assesses patient needs and communicates evaluation data to physicians; recommends therapy changes.
• Documents care and monitors patient responses; reports adverse reactions immediately.
• Educates patients and families about therapy and equipment; supports Home Care referrals as needed.
• Serves as charge person in supervisor's absence and assigns workloads.
