Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Omaha, NE, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join an established RT team delivering specialized cardiopulmonary care, including nebulizer treatments, oxygen support and ventilator management.

You will assess, plan, and implement care, communicate patient data to physicians, and instruct patients and families. Sign-on bonus and loan forgiveness support new hires who meet eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Respiratory program.
• Certified CRT by NBRC and obtain RRT within 1 year upon hire.
• Active Nebraska license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• BLS upon hire.
• ACLS within 3 months, PALS within 6 months, and NRP within 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic respiratory care and develops plans for delivery of Respiratory Therapy as directed by physicians or protocols.
• Administers and monitors mechanical ventilation, physiological monitoring, and diagnostic procedures.
• Assesses patient needs related to therapy modality, frequency, and duration; communicates data to physician and suggests changes.
• Records in the medical chart, observes responses, and reports adverse reactions.
• Provides instruction to patients, family, staff, and students about therapy and equipment; guides Home Care referrals as needed.
• Assumes charge responsibilities in supervisor’s absence; assigns workload based on staff competency.
