Job summary

Mercy health system is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physician orders and to consult on therapy effectiveness. The role requires graduation from a CoARC-approved program and an active RCP license with NBRC RRT credential.

The position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus, day-one health, vision and dental coverage, PTO, and employer-matching retirement plans. ACLS is preferred, PALS for ER staff as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the NBRC; PALS may be required in ER.
• Physical demands include pushing/pulling/grip up to 50 lbs and kneeling/crouching.
• Equipment used includes all appropriate respiratory devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult with physicians on effectiveness of therapy and adjust care as needed.
• Serve as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
