Job summary

AMG Specialty Hospital - Lafayette is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist for Day Shifts in our LTAC setting. The role involves managing respiratory support, ventilated patients, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to monitor and adjust therapy.

Requirements include completion of an approved respiratory care program, active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License, current BLS and ACLS, and 1–3 years of related experience. We offer ESOP benefits and weekend shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved respiratory care program.
• Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Minimum of one to three years of related work experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and co-workers.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with supervision.

AMG Specialty Hospital-LafayetteisseekingPRN Respiratory Therapist forDay Shifts.Someof the medical conditions that are commonly treated include but are not limitedto; Respiratory Failure requiring ventilation, vapotherm, high flow, bipap,cpap, and nasal cannula. Depending on the complexity of these patients, theycan require sedation/pain management, pressor management, andcardiac/anti-arrhythmic management. Complicated infections requiring long-termIV antibiotics. Chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatmentwith wound vacs and frequent dressing changes. RN'swill beresponsiblefor direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting.Ability to communicate with physicians, CCO/co-workers, as appropriate aboutchanges in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studiesand symptomatology. Respond quickly and accurately to changes inconditionor response to treatment. Additionally, is able to performgeneral nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
