Minimum requirements include state-certified RT credentials, CPR if applicable, and compliance with health and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices.
• One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor.
• The Respiratory Therapist treats conditions that affect the pulmonary system and helps patients who are having trouble breathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health care settings.
