Job summary

Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to support patient care on a per diem basis. You’ll deliver prescribed respiratory therapies, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with physicians to optimize treatment plans.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree in respiratory therapy, current RRT license in Arizona, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy.
• Current registered respiratory therapist (RRT) license in the state of practice.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients with breathing-related conditions, perform diagnostic testing, and collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment.
• Provide patient education on therapies and medication use.
• Deliver ordered respiratory therapies; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to treatment.
• Respond to codes and emergent calls; assess patient condition and provide appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.

How You’ll Contribute

• Examine and treat patients with breathing-related conditions, perform diagnostic testing, and collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment.
• Provide patient education on therapies and medication use.
• Perform physiotherapy and related treatments.
• Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood analyzer; may perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
• Deliver ordered respiratory therapies; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to treatment.
• Respond to codes and emergent calls; assess patient condition and provide appropriate interventions.
• Evaluate and contribute to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
• Educate patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
• Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintain storage areas and equipment readiness.
• Disassemble, clean, sterilize, perform preventive maintenance and calibrate respiratory equipment.
• Perform all responsibilities as needed to fulfil required service levels.
• Participate in performance improvement and required education.
