Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Science required.
• Current unencumbered clinical license according to state practice guidelines.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.

12-hour shifts, rotating with weekends and holidays

Position Summary

Examine patients with breathing‑related conditions and conduct diagnostic testing. Consult with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan. Perform physiotherapy and other treatments and teach patients to use medications.

Essential Functions

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per care plan.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
• Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
• Educates the patient and family about the patient’s illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
• Monitors, receives and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Education / Certification

• Associate Degree in Science required.
• Current unencumbered clinical license according to state practice guidelines.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
