Position Summary

To provide therapeutic respiratory treatments to all patients. In addition to the duties of a certified respiratory therapist, may perform advanced diagnostic testing, patient assessment, and intervention. Serves as a preceptor for other therapists.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program (or licensure obtained prior to November 11, 2009).
• At least one year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
• Licensed as a RRT by the Texas Medical Board and registered by NBRC.
• Completion of BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses during new hire orientation according to RQI guidelines.
• NRP certification within 90 days of employment.
