Job summary

Compass Memorial Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The schedule involves a rotation of 3 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday.

The RRT is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care per physician orders, with emphasis on ventilators, EKGs, and overnight monitoring according to department policy. Iowa licensure, AMA-approved education, and PALS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current state of Iowa Respiratory Therapy Licensure.
• PALS and ACLS certification.
• Previous experience in all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiopulmonary care services per physician orders and department policy.
• Operate and monitor mechanical ventilators and related equipment.
• Perform EKGs and Holter monitoring as required.
• Overnight oximetry and patient monitoring as part of CP services.

Position Information

The registered respiratory therapy technician is a graduate of an A.M.A. approved training program and credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Card. The RRT is responsible for the providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policy and procedure to provide a level of patient care equivalent to the level of care available throughout the institution.

• Graduate of AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current state of Iowa Respiratory Therapy Licensure.
• PALS and ACLS certification.
• Previous experience in all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Services.
• Knowledge of mechanical ventilators, invasive and non-invasive, performing EKG’s, Holter Monitors and overnight oximetry.
• Prefer previous experience and/or knowledge of PFT’s.
• Previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services.
