Job summary

IHA in Michigan is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for part-time work (24 hours per week) to assess and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The role includes documentation, protocol-driven care, and participation in CQI initiatives.

Responsibilities also cover training new staff, equipment maintenance, and CPR team participation. Requires an RRT credential, Michigan licensure, and 6 months of clinical experience, with BCLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy associate's degree or equivalent.
• Must have completed Level I and II therapist competency requirements.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure by the State of Michigan.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
• At least six (6) months of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BCLS certification.

• Documents performance and results of therapies according to policy and procedures.
• Accurately maintains the Order Entry and Charging system related to services rendered.
• Assists with data collection and CQI projects for department improvements.
• Supervises and assists in training of new employees and students.
• Cleans, assembles, maintains and troubleshoots department equipment cost-effectively.
• Participates as a CPR team member.

Position Purpose

Performs patient assessments and procedures related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.

What The Registered Respiratory Therapist Will Do

• Perform therapist-driven protocols, patient assessments, administration of medications, and evaluate patient response to therapies.
• Documents performance and results of therapies (therapeutic and diagnostic) according to policy and procedures (inclusive of NICU transport).
• Accurately maintains the Order Entry and Charging system related to services rendered.
• Assists with data collection and projects for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and the Respiratory Care Department process improvement plan.
• Supervises and assists in the training of new employees and students.
• Cleans, assembles, maintains and troubleshoots all Respiratory Care Department equipment while utilizing supplies and resources in a cost-effective manner.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – Participates as a member of the CPR team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have completed Level I and II therapist competency requirements.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure by the State of Michigan.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• At least six (6) months of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
• BCLS certification.
