Job summary

IHA is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform patient assessments and procedures related to cardiopulmonary diagnoses and treatments. This full-time night shift role involves 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night schedule, with duties spanning therapy administration, documentation, and CQI collaboration.

The position requires an associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Level I/II competency, NBRC RRT credential, Michigan licensure, and BCLS certification, with at least six months

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have completed Level I and II therapist competency requirements.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure by the State of Michigan.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
  • At least six (6) months of clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform therapist-driven protocols, patient assessments, administration of medications, and evaluate patient response to therapies.
  • Documents performance and results of therapies (therapeutic and diagnostic) according to policy and procedures (inclusive of NICU transport).
  • Accurately maintains the Order Entry and Charging system related to services rendered.
  • Assists with data collection and projects for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and the Respiratory Care Department process improvement plan.
  • Supervises and assists in the training of new employees and students.
  • Cleans, assembles, maintains and troubleshoots all Respiratory Care Department equipment while utilizing supplies and resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – Participates as a member of the CPR team.

Position Purpose

Minimum Qualifications
