Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) II to joining our Cardiopulmonary/RRT team in a high-acuity acute care setting. You will deliver respiratory therapy, manage ventilators, perform ABG/PFT diagnostics, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications

• State RCP license required.
• NBRC RRT certification required.
• ACLS within 60 days of hire; maintain current.
• PALS within 60 days of hire; maintain current.
• NRP preferred; CPR/BLS to be maintained.
• Two years experience as an RCP preferred.
• Associate or BS degree preferred; high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management).
• Manage ventilators and high-flow oxygen systems (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs).
• Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans.
• Document care in the EMR.
• Respond to code blue and rapid response events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
• May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts.

Overview

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Relocation Assistance: Available for candidates relocating from outside the state of Illinois.

Salary Range: $1,332 – $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 – $49.80 per hour.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
• NRP certificate preferred
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
