Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in a night shift setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and document respiratory care under medical direction in a full-time capacity.

The role emphasizes patient-focused assessment, coordination of care, and accurate documentation, with potential to lead the RCP team during the night shift. Location is Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Current State RCP license required.
• NBRC RRT credential or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and current.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and current.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and current or within 60 days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate upon hire and within 60 days.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapies and pulmonary diagnostics as ordered.
• Focus on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care.
• Consider age and population specific needs of the patient.
• May serve as Lead RCP during shift and oversee the section.

Overview

• Department: Respiratory
• Schedule: Full-time 12 hour shift nights 7 pm to 7 am
• Facility: Resurrection Medical Center
• Location: 7435 W Talcott Ave, Chicago, IL 60631

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.00 to $49.80.
