Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-acuity, critical care team on the Night shift. This full-time role offers relocation assistance for candidates moving from outside Illinois and a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities include administering respiratory therapies, ventilator management, pulmonary diagnostics, and care plan implementation.

Qualifications

• 1) State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
• 2) Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC required
• 4) 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• 5) ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• 6) NRP certificate preferred
• 7) PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• 8) Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
• 9) High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management)
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
• Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs)
• Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
• Document care in the EMR
• Respond to code blue and rapid response events
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
• May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts

Salary Range: $1,323 – $1,917 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $36.77 – $53.26 per hour.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.
