Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Illinois is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12-week temporary contract on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). You will perform respiratory therapies and diagnostics under the medical director’s direction, with potential lead responsibilities and opportunities for growth within Prime Healthcare’s system.

Required: active RCP license, NBRC RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS (or within 60 days), NRP on hire (or within 60 days), and 2 years of acute care

Qualifications

• Current State RCP license required.
• NBRC RRT certification or obtained within 3 months of hire.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required; PALS required or to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• NRP certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Associate or BS in Respiratory Care preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Assess, plan, implement and document care considering patient age and needs.
• May be Lead RCP during shift.
• Work under medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager direction.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Pay Transparency

Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is a flat rate of $55/hr The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
