Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RN for weekends and evenings, approx. 15 hours per week.

The role involves assessing and implementing respiratory care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements include an Associate or BSN in Nursing and an active RN license in New York.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (AND or BSN) required.
• Active RN license in New York State.
• Experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas.
• Proficiency in respiratory care techniques and nursing procedures.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management.
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include:

Respiratory Therapy:
