Job summary

Island Health in Anacortes, WA, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the day shift part-time role (0.6 FTE). You will set up and manage ventilators, oxygen delivery, and aerosol therapies, delivering safe, high-quality care across inpatient and emergency settings.

You will perform diagnostics (ECGs, pulmonary function, ABG), document assessments, educate patients, and coordinate home oxygen services. Washington license and NBRC credential (RRT/CRT) are required; BLS and ACLS are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires Washington State License to practice Respiratory Care.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from NBRC.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapy.
• Perform diagnostic testing: ECGs, pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas analysis.

Schedule: 0.6 FTE / Part Time | Day Shift
Salary Range: $36.65 – $54.97 per hour

Differentials:

Nights – $2.75 per hour

Evenings – $2.25 per hour

In this part time role, you’ll work alongside a collaborative care team to deliver safe, high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages across inpatient and emergency settings.

What You’ll Do

Set up and manage ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapy

Perform diagnostic testing, including ECGs, pulmonary function testing, and arterial blood gas analysis

Initiate and document Respiratory Assessment Protocols, communicate findings, and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans

Provide airway clearance therapies, breathing exercises, and patient education

Inspect and maintain respiratory equipment for safe operation

Participate in patient transport while monitoring respiratory status

Arrange and coordinate home oxygen services following hospital protocol

Complete daily billing/charging procedures accurately within Meditech

What You’ll Bring

Current Washington State License to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from NBRC

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
