Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive patient care, including assessments, therapy planning, aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation.

You will collaborate with the medical team, manage airway emergencies, assist with invasive procedures, educate patients and families, and participate in transport and monitoring per hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a specialty training program in respiratory therapy.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with state-of-the-art equipment and evidence-based practices.
• Residency or transition-to-practice programs preferred for new graduates.

Role Overview:

This position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care, including assessments, treatment planning, and execution of therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation. The therapist collaborates with the healthcare team, manages airway emergencies, and assists with invasive procedures like bronchoscopy and monitoring line placements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient respiratory needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Perform and document therapeutic modalities and manage ventilators according to protocols.
• Educate patients and families on disease management.
• Participate in intra-hospital transport and acute airway management.
• Adhere to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
• Collect arterial blood gases and assist with invasive procedures under medical guidance.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate from a specialty training program in respiratory therapy.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS (training provided if needed).
