Job summary

AdventHealth in Greenwood Village, Colorado is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our versatile care team. You will administer respiratory therapy, monitor ventilators, perform ABG sampling, and document thoroughly in the EMR, ensuring safety for neonate through geriatric patients.

The role requires NBRC credential with CRT or RRT and current BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Job Description:

• Demonstrates knowledge of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric.
• Follows best practices to reduce potential medication errors.
• Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after completing service.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and possible side effects of each.
• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects.
• Follows departmental equipment sterilization procedures.
• Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning.
• Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples for gas analysis, understanding complications and contraindications.
• Assesses patient needs and tolerance for treatment, reassessing responses to therapy.
• Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, inspecting and testing to ensure functionality.
• Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on patient learning needs, including family involvement as appropriate.

• Knowledge and skill to care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient in a health care delivery system [Required]
• Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR) [Preferred]

• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
• Associate's Degree [Required] OR Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program [Required]
• For Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist: NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
• All States: require NBRC for new hires, and incumbents
• Florida Exception: legacy incumbents may continue working and may transfer within Florida without a NBRC active credential, subject to an approved, time -limited transition period.
