Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care in respiratory services per physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource for the care team in respiratory care.

The role requires meeting state licensure for RCP and NBRC RRT credentials. Preferred ACLS and critical care exposure are valued as Mercy supports professional growth and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license per state requirements.
• NBRC RRT credential awarded by NBRC.
• PALS required for ER coworkers.
• ACLS preferred.
• Possess physical capability to meet job demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Position Details

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
