Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy per physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource for the medical team.

Ideal candidates hold a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential; ACLS is preferred and critical care experience is encouraged. Mercy offers strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC RRT credential required.
• ACLS preferred.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• PALS required for ER coworkers.

Overview

Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.

Position Details:

• Qualifications Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
• Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Licensure:
