The role you’ll contribute:
The Respiratory Therapist reports to the director and delivers care to patients under the direction of the physician. The therapist must perform competencies as outlined by the department, interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and health team members, and maintain standards of respiratory care while ensuring regulatory compliance. They report observations, interventions, and patient responses to the registered nurse and/or physician, demonstrating sound judgment. The therapist also serves as a resource for department practitioners, students, and the interdisciplinary team, using critical thinking and decision-making skills to deliver quality patient care. Additionally, they contribute to achieving dashboard measurements and patient, customer, and employee satisfaction.
