The Respiratory Therapist reports to the director. Responsibilities include delivering patient care under the direction/delegation of physicians, performing competencies outlined by the department, interacting effectively with patients, families, physicians, and team members, and maintaining standards of respiratory care and regulatory compliance. The therapist reports observations, interventions, and responses to the RN and/or physician, demonstrates sound judgment, and serves as a resource for department practitioners, students, and the interdisciplinary team, utilizing critical thinking and decision-making skills to ensure quality patient care. Contributing to the achievement of dashboard measurements and satisfaction metrics is also expected.
