Job description

Join to apply for the Respiratory Therapist PRN Days role at United Surgical Partners International, Inc.

This position involves providing services efficiently and effectively to all patients served by the department, following the guidelines outlined in the Cardiopulmonary Services Department Policy and Procedure Manual. The CRT/RRT will assist with administrative tasks, maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education, and work collaboratively within the facility to ensure quality patient care. The role may require working weekends, evenings, nights, flex schedules, and being on call.

Essential Functions:
  • Assess patients, interpret results, and suggest treatments.
  • Review respiratory care orders and administer breathing treatments and IS therapy.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff on patient therapies.
  • Adjust modes of therapy as needed.
  • Assist physicians in clinical management.
  • Engage patients and families in care and education.
  • Administer medications per hospital policy.
  • Interpret and document verbal and telephone orders accurately.
  • Operate patient equipment proficiently.
  • Respond calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Work autonomously and independently.
Accountability:
  • Reports to: Cardiopulmonary Services Director/Manager
Qualifications:

CRT:

  • Oklahoma license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • NBRC CRT certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Minimum 1-year post-graduation experience.
  • BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within 120 days.

RRT:

  • Oklahoma license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • NBRC RRT certification.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year post-graduation experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications as above.
Physical Demands:
  • Heavy lifting (50-100 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs constantly).
  • Constant standing/walking.
  • Occasional keyboard/dexterity activities.
  • Effective verbal communication, good vision, hearing, and color acuity.
Environmental Conditions:
  • High exposure to hazards including infectious diseases, blood, body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Standard precautions required.
