Job summary

West Gables Healthcare Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PRN opportunity. The role provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents with complex pulmonary needs, including ventilator support and tracheostomy care, across sub-acute and long-term care.

Qualifications

• RRT credential from NBRC required.
• Current state licensure required.
• 3+ years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, and clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and ABG evaluation.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and equipment functionality.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.
