Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in respiratory therapy or related field.
• 1 year of respiratory therapy experience.
• CPR/BLS certification required at hire (AHA/ARC).
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT) in Virginia required at hire.
• ACLS provider certification within 1 year.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC required at hire.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) NBRC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, implement and evaluate the respiratory care plan.
• Use infection control techniques per departmental procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans.
• Evaluate progress of the treatment.
• Complete all documentation and ensure orders are current.
• Participate in meetings and in-services to improve services.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes current evidenced based Respiratory Care Practice to care for each patient based on the physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provided respiratory services associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, and supports best practices as recommended by the American Association of Respiratory Care. **What you will do** * Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating the treatment and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan.* Utilizes proper infection control techniques in performance of duties and in accordance with departmental procedures.* Works with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans.
