Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for Liberty Hospital to deliver professional respiratory care and care planning for adults and pediatrics. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, documenting procedures and educating patients on treatments.

The role requires RT licensure (state), NBRC registration, BLS, and ACLS within 180 days; NRP preferred. This position is part-time at Liberty Hospital, with duties spanning routine and critical care scenarios.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Respiratory Therapy program/school.
• Recent clinical respiratory therapy experience.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RT) - State Board of Healing Arts.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NBRC.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) - AHA.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA within 180 days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AAP (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs basic physician ordered treatments for Adults and Pediatrics: Aerosol Therapy Treatments, Low flow and High Flow Oxygen Therapy, Airway Clearance Therapy, Airway expansion Therapy, Bedside Spirometry, ETCO2 Monitoring, & ABG's.
• Educate patient and document on all procedures performed.
• Set up, maintain, and clean all invasive and non-invasive ventilators.
• Monitor and document all therapy procedures.
• Responds to Code Blue, traumas, OB emergency, and other emergency situations.
• NICU/Mother Baby care includes aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, airway therapies, and ventilator management.
• Performs basic EKG's.
• Cleans and stores equipment and supplies.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
