Job summary

Yoakum Community Hospital seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide clinical care, including IPPB, nebulizers, oxygen delivery and chest physiotherapy. You will monitor ventilators during CPR and emergencies, perform arterial blood gases and related diagnostics, and maintain accurate patient records.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: perform IPPB, nebulizers, oxygen delivery, chest physiotherapy.
• Critical Care: operate and monitor mechanical ventilators; assist during CPR and emergencies.
• Diagnostics: perform arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, EKG/EEG as needed.
• Patient Management: review charts, document treatments, and communicate with physicians and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: Conduct routine treatments including IPPB, nebulizers, oxygen delivery, and chest physiotherapy (percussion, drainage, suctioning).
• Critical Care: Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators; ensure adequate ventilation during CPR and emergency situations.
• Diagnostics: Perform arterial punctures and blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, and EKG/EEG procedures as required.
• Patient Management: Review patient charts, document treatments legibly, and communicate effectively with physicians and the clinical team regarding patient status.
• Maintenance: Process, clean, and package RT equipment for sterilization; maintain departmental cleanliness and monitor crash cart supplies.
• Compliance: Abide by all state/federal regulations and hospital policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the State of Texas.
• Required to maintain current certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
