Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center in Missouri seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our acute care team. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, administer gases, manage ventilation, analyze specimens, and document care.

We value safety, infection control, and patient education as core parts of daily practice. Requirements include NBRC-CRT certification and an associate degree; BCLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NBRC-CRT Certified Respiratory Therapist is the minimum requirement.
• An Associate Degree is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician.
• Administer medical gases and aerosol therapy.
• Obtain and analyze blood specimens and monitor patient responses to therapy.
• Operate and maintain respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment; provide mechanical ventilation.
• Complete patient documentation in electronic medical records and departmental records.
• Maintain safety and infection control practices in daily duties.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Manager/Supervisor or designee, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician. Duties include medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, obtaining and analyzing blood specimens, performing patient testing, operating and maintaining various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, providing mechanical ventilation, maintaining artificial airways, assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing patient education, monitoring equipment and patient response to therapy. Additional responsibilities include completing patient documentation in the patient and departmental records, to include all computerized documentation. Cleaning equipment and maintaining safety and infection control practices.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• (NBRC-CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist - Minimum Requirement
