Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center in Missouri is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our patient-centered team. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician, administer medical gases and aerosol therapies, and operate cardiopulmonary equipment to support ventilation and patient care.

Under supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, you will document care, ensure infection control, and participate in education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• NBRC-CRT certification required (minimum)
• Associate Degree required

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician
• Administer medical gas and aerosol therapies
• Obtain and analyze blood specimens and perform patient testing
• Operate and maintain respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Manager/Supervisor or designee, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician. Duties include medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, obtaining and analyzing blood specimens, performing patient testing, operating and maintaining various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment, providing mechanical ventilation, maintaining artificial airways, assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, providing patient education, monitoring equipment and patient response to therapy. Additional responsibilities include completing patient documentation in the patient and departmental records, to include all computerized documentation. Cleaning equipment and maintaining safety and infection control practices.

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (NBRC-CRT) Certified Respiratory Therapist - Minimum Requirement
• Associate Degree Required
