Job summary

Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) to join our team in Denison, TX, with travel to satellite locations as needed. The RT will perform PFTs, educate patients on respiratory therapies, and assist providers during visits.

Strong EMR skills and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced clinic. Ideal candidates have an active Texas license, BLS certification, and preferred RRT/CRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Texas license required for Respiratory Therapist practice.
• BLS certification is required and CPR-trained.
• RRT or CRT credential preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and spirometry.
• Educate patients on inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen therapy and PAP therapy.
• Assist providers during visits and procedures as needed.
• Set up and troubleshoot CPAP/BiPAP devices and educate patients.
• Review sleep study results and reinforce provider recommendations.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
• Coordinate care with providers, DME and home health agencies.
• Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with inventory and supply management.
• Participate in quality improvement and staff training.

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Position Summary

Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) to join our growing team. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with our pulmonology and sleep medicine providers to assist in the evaluation, treatment, and education of patients with respiratory and sleep-related disorders.

This position requires excellent patient care skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to our patients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary function testing (PFTs), spirometry, and related respiratory diagnostic procedures.
• Educate patients on respiratory diseases, medications, inhalers, nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and PAP therapy.
• Assist providers during patient visits and procedures as needed.
• Provide CPAP/BiPAP setup, troubleshooting, and patient education.
• Review sleep study results and reinforce provider recommendations.
• Monitor and document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate care with providers, DME companies, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare, and other regulatory requirements.
• Assist with inventory management and ensure adequate supplies are available.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training activities.
• Crosstrain and assist with other clinical duties as required.
• Help with front desk and or MA duties when needed (Training is provided)

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Texas.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Previous pulmonary, sleep medicine, or outpatient clinic experience preferred.
• Strong computer and EMR skills.
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
