Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Nashville, part of Select Medical, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for nights (7pm–7am) on a PRN/per diem basis in Midtown Nashville. The role emphasizes bedside respiratory care for critically ill patients, with opportunities to advance and grow within the network.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning treatments, assisting with intubations as needed, teaching families, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC credential (CRT or RRT) required.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required upon hire (agency RT must have ACLS on first shift).

• Evaluating patients and recommending a treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
