Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Wichita, KS is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for per diem/PRN. You will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care for critical conditions, and assist with endotracheal tube procedures.

ACLS required on hire, NBRC credential valid, state licensure current, BLS by start date, and 1 year of experience preferred. The role offers an extensive orientation, potential pathways to full-time opportunities, and a benefits program including 401k eligibility after 1,000

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credential (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: transcript/diploma or GED.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required on hire (agency RT must have ACLS on first shift).
• Preferred: 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule: PRN Days or NightsCompensation: $38.00 per hour plus competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
