Job summary

Select Medical in Panama City, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for PRN/Per Diem with 12-hour day and night shifts. Compensation starts at $36 per hour with differential for nights and weekends.

The role supports an inpatient post-ICU recovery hospital delivering compassionate, high-quality respiratory care to critically ill patients. The RT will evaluate patients, implement treatment plans, manage complex cases, and participate in teaching families.

Qualifications

• Must possess NBRC CRT or RRT credential (state equivalent acceptable).
• Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma preferred or HS/GED transcript/diploma.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement in care and procedures.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: PRN / Per Diem, 12hr shifts, day and night shift positions available

Compensation: $36 per hour plus shift differential for night and weekend shifts

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
