Job description

Work Schedule:

90 % FTE, 36 hours/week. 8 or 12 -hour evening/night shifts. Every other weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of department.

Pay:

• UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.
• This position includes a weekend and shift differential.
• External hires may be eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
• Relocation assistance may be available for qualified applicants.

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to:

• Provide treatment and diagnostic respiratory services to patients.
• Work at an ECMO Center of Excellence and Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Be an important member of an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Act as a resource to physicians and health care professionals.
• Gain experience within the organization and seek growth opportunities, which may include senior/lead roles and ECMO Specialist positions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Therapy within the last 6 months Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy within the last 6 months Preferred

Work Experience

• Recent experience working in a healthcare setting Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Must obtain Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the State of Wisconsin within 6 months Required
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Upon Hire Required
• If start with CRT, must obtain the RRT credential within 6 months Required
• CPR/BLS Upon Hire Required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 12 months Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months Required
