Job summary

The role requires an Associate's degree, NBRC credential or current eligibility, RRT status or new graduate, and certifications ACLS and PALS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care or related field.
• Active NBRC Continuing Competency Program participation to maintain credential if earned after July 1, 2002.
• RRT credential or eligibility with up to 3 months to obtain after hire/graduation.
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire/transfer date; existing employees have 6 months.
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer date; existing employees have 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional image and customer relations per Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Performs direct patient care and respiratory therapy procedures.
• Organizes workload to ensure prescribed therapies are completed.
• Participates in RC educational activities and departmental meetings.
• Documents records, charts, and reports timely and accurately.
• Responds to emergency alerts and documents appropriately.
• Exercises clinical judgement in patient care, monitoring, and information communication.
• Evaluates patient care and makes recommendations as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
