Job description

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Care Program
2. Preferred Experience: Some experience in respiratory care or related area
3. Required Certifications/Licensure: Possession of current RCP State of Texas License, possession of current CRT or RRT Certification from NBRC. Renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002.
4. Required Courses/Completions (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
5. AHA ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications: Must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering Pedi or NICU, respectively.
