Job summary

Lincare is seeking a field-based respiratory equipment technician who installs and maintains critical home care devices in patients' homes, including ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units with professionalism and timeliness.

You will provide hands-on device support, educate patients and caregivers, and document activities in accordance with policy. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required for home visits and travel across the service area.

Qualifications

• Provide technical assistance with equipment.
• Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education as part of patient care in home visits.
• Performs complete patient assessments according to policy.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and concepts.
• Follows Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA).
• Represents Lincare professionally in reports and care activities.
• Facilitates prescription collection.
• Maintains patient records per accreditation standards.
• Works on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled, with timely response.

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
  • Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
