Job summary

Lincare seeks a field-based equipment setup technician to install and service high-technology respiratory devices in patients' homes.

You will perform ventilator, monitor, and CPAP setup, educate patients, and ensure safety standards are met. Occasional after-hours on-call and home visits require reliable transportation and adherence to policy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of home respiratory care equipment and clinical best practices.
• Ability to safely set up complex medical devices in patient homes.
• Understanding of safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education as part of care delivery per policy.
• Perform complete patient assessments per procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques.
• Follow Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA).
• Represent Lincare through professional appearance and reports.
• Facilitate prescription collection and maintain patient records.
• Be available for on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
  • Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
