Job summary

Lincare seeks a field-based equipment technician to install and service respiratory devices in patients' homes, focusing on ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units. You will perform installations in a timely and professional manner and provide hands-on technical assistance with equipment.

This role requires a valid driver’s license and willingness to work on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled. You will maintain patient records, educate patients, and adhere to Safety, OSHA, and FDA guidelines

Qualifications

• Provides patient education as part of patient care per policy.
• Requires a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license.
• Performs professional patient assessments per procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and concepts.
• Adheres to Safety, OSHA, DOT, FDA, and Emergency Planning guidelines.
• Represents Lincare through appearance, patient care and reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection and maintains records per accreditation.
• On-call evenings and weekends as scheduled; response timely.

Responsibilities

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
• Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
• Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
