Job summary

Lincare seeks a field-based equipment specialist to perform timely setup of respiratory equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units, primarily in patients' homes. The role includes providing technical assistance and maintaining up-to-date patient records per policy.

Candidates should be capable of handling on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled, and comply with Safety & Regulatory Manual policies including OSHA and DOT driving safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in home healthcare or respiratory equipment preferred.
• Strong patient education and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of safety, OSHA, DOT, FDA guidelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs timely setup of ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units in patients' homes or clinical sites.
• Provides technical assistance with equipment and ensures proper operation.
• Maintains patient records in compliance with accreditation standards.
• Represents Lincare through professional appearance and accurate written reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection and coordinates with centers for on-call coverage.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
• Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
• Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
  • Must respond in a timely manner
