Job summary

Lincare is seeking a field equipment setup technician to install and service respiratory equipment in patient homes.

You will set up ventilators, monitors, CPAP units, and oxygen equipment, provide user education, and ensure safety protocols are followed. The role requires driving to patient homes, maintaining records, and being available for on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience handling and maintaining respiratory equipment.
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers on equipment use.
• Familiarity with safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education as part of patient care according to policy, often in patients' homes.
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and related concepts.
• Follows Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA) and uses PPE.
• Represents Lincare through professional appearance and reports.
• Facilitates prescription collection and maintains patient records per accreditation standards.
• Works on-call evenings and weekends as scheduled, with frequency depending on center size.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highly technical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
• Also responsible for providing technical assistance with equipment
• Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

Job Functions

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA (includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size and the number of employees available to share in the responsibility
