Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a dedicated equipment setup professional to perform timely, professional setups of respiratory devices, including ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units, often in patients' homes.

The role involves patient education, safety compliance, and maintaining accurate records while coordinating with clinical staff. A valid driver's license and experience in home healthcare are required, with on-call responsibilities evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with doctors, referral sources, and patients.
• Must be computer literate and able to use basic software for patient records.
• Clinician authorized within state law to provide patient care services as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient education as part of patient care according to Lincare policy, often in patients' homes.
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments per Lincare procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and related concepts.
• Follows Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA, Emergency Planning).
• Represents Lincare with professional appearance and in written reports; facilitates prescription collection; maintains patient records.
• On-call evenings and weekends as scheduled; timely response is required.

Job description

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highlytechnical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
  • Also responsible for providing technicalassistance with equipment
  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size andthe number of employees available to share in the responsibility
  • Must respond in a timely manner

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required
• Level 2 - Minimum of two years in home healthcare, Required
• Level 3 - Minimum of three years in home healthcare
  • May be involvedin training of other Healthcare Specialists, Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• excellent human relations to interface with doctors, other referral sources, andpatients

• clinician authorized within scope of practice (as established by applicable state lawor if none, by the applicable national board) to provide all patient care services offered by Lincarefrom time to time
• Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may alsobe qualified for this position
  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for CRTs and RRTs.
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis, a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law

Licenses and Certifications

• Must have completed all training/educationrequired to obtain requisite certification,registration, and/or license described below,Required
• Must remain certified, registered, orlicensed by the applicable state and/or national board governing clinicalpractice or as otherwise permitted by law
• In all states, CRTs and RRTs are qualifiedfor this position,Required
